Who Aderis is for, and who it is not for

Published
November 3, 2026
The quick answer

Aderis is built for growing mid-market companies with multi-entity, multi-currency or multi-country structures, typically with 50 to 500 employees, revenue from CHF 10 million and a finance team of three to fifteen people, run in Switzerland, Austria or Germany. The usual trigger is growth, rising complexity or pressure to put AI to work in finance while keeping control. Aderis is not built for large-corporate ERP programmes, and it is not an add-on for companies that want to keep their existing accounting system.

The fit

The decisive criterion is structure rather than industry. Aderis matters most where several entities, currencies, ledgers, banks and jurisdictions have to be run together and the finance function has become the integration layer between systems. Typical customers are mid-market companies, scale-ups and founder-owned, family-owned or PE-backed businesses in commerce, manufacturing, MedTech and complex service businesses; published customers include companies in manufacturing, e-commerce, MedTech and hospitality. The finance function is run in Switzerland, Austria or Germany, and local banking, statutory and tax requirements are a selection criterion rather than a detail.

The trigger

Companies rarely replace their finance system of record without a reason. The reasons that bring them to Aderis are growth that the current setup no longer keeps pace with, a new entity, an acquisition or a new market that would turn the next close into a project, a CFO or CEO change that reopens the question of how finance should run, an ERP replacement discussion already under way, or a mandate to use AI in finance without giving up control. Signs that the current setup has been outgrown: finance data is repeatedly exported, reconciled and enriched outside the system; automation depends on scripts, spreadsheets or disconnected point solutions; month-end work concentrates in the final days of the period; new entities, currencies or payment providers create disproportionate manual effort; and finance headcount grows almost in line with transaction volume.

Who it is not for

Aderis serves mid-market complexity, not large-corporate ERP programmes, and does not position itself toward large corporates. A company with one entity, a straightforward revenue model and a small, stable workload may be well served by its existing tools. A company that wants to keep its current accounting system and add an AI layer on top is looking for a different category; Aderis replaces the system of record. A company that wants one suite for CRM, inventory, manufacturing and finance is looking for a broad ERP; Aderis builds its platform around the finance function and connects the operational systems around it.

The buyers

The CFO is accountable for control, accuracy, audit defensibility, timely numbers for decisions and a finance function that scales more slowly than headcount and revenue, and distrusts black-box automation, unexplainable numbers and migration risk. What moves the CFO is traceability, evidence, references from comparable structures and a credible migration path. The CEO buys speed and confidence: current financial reality, complexity that does not slow expansion, and a finance function that supports the next entity or market rather than lagging it. The pages Aderis for CFOs and Aderis for CEOs take each perspective in turn.

What the decision usually turns on

Control and auditability; time to current numbers; multi-entity and multi-currency handling; migration risk; total finance operating cost; vendor credibility and longevity; and data residency. Aderis answers these with traceability to source, Continuous Close, multi-entity, multi-ledger and multi-currency on one core, migration as a service measured in days with transfers included, a Swiss company with offices in Munich and Vienna, and hosting in Switzerland and the EU.

Frequently asked questions

Are we too small for Aderis?

Size matters less than structure. A company below 50 employees with several entities or currencies can fit; a larger single-entity company with simple processes may not need it yet.

Are we too complex?

Multi-entity, multi-ledger and multi-currency complexity is what the platform is built for. Large-corporate ERP programmes are outside its scope.

We already have an ERP. Does Aderis add to it?

No. Aderis replaces the finance system of record rather than adding a layer. Operational systems such as CRM, inventory or billing stay in place and connect to the platform.

Do we have to be in Switzerland, Austria or Germany?

Aderis is built in and for Switzerland and Europe, with Swiss banking integrated directly, hosting in Switzerland and the EU, and offices in Kilchberg, Munich and Vienna. Companies whose finance function runs in the DACH region get the most from it.
