A day on the platform
Documents arrive in the inbox: supplier invoices, customer correspondence, letters from the tax authority. The agent captures each one, reads it, codes it, matches it to orders, receipts or open items and checks it against the rules the team has set. What fits the rules is processed; what does not stops and appears in the queue with its context: a duplicate tax number, an amount above the approval limit, a missing account assignment. The team's work starts there, with the exceptions, not with the data entry. A finance team member can also simply ask: "what happened to the documents that arrived in the inbox today?"
Purchase to Pay
Purchase orders, vendor invoices, receipts, approvals and accounts payable run as one flow. Invoices are matched to orders and receipts, approvals are routed to the right person by threshold, and due invoices are grouped into payment runs. A payment run approved on the platform goes straight to the bank through bLink from SIX; the bank's response shows whether it was submitted, accepted or rejected, and the outgoing transactions are reconciled against the open items when they clear. No payment file is exported, no e-banking upload, no bank statement import.
Order to Cash
Sales orders, invoices, recurring revenue, revenue recognition, reminders and collections run as one revenue flow. Incoming payments are matched to open receivables continuously; Stripe payments, refunds, fees and payouts are imported and reconciled against the incoming bank payment. Dunning is prepared by the agent according to the rules the team sets, and "which overdue receivables need attention today?" is a question Ada answers from the live position rather than a list someone has to compile.
Record to Report and the close
The general ledger, bank reconciliation, journal booking, accruals, close management, VAT reporting and reporting are kept current throughout the period. Each transaction is recorded once and carried into the statutory, tax, management and group ledgers at the same time, so there is no second posting for the tax view and no reconciliation between ledgers at month-end. Validation rules catch known error patterns, such as missing VAT on intragroup transactions, during the period. Month-end becomes a control point for judgement-intensive items and sign-off rather than a backlog of routine work.
Treasury and banking
Cash visibility is live because bank data flows in continuously through bLink and the ESPRIT Network for Swiss banks, with ISO 20022, QR-bill and CAMT supported natively. Payment runs are prepared, approved and sent from the same place where the invoices were processed, and bank transactions stay linked to the payment, the open item and the posting.
Working with Ada and with AI assistants
Ada, the conversational finance agent, answers questions about the current position in plain language and can carry the next process step forward within the user's permissions. Teams that work in Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client can also connect Aderis as a connector: the assistant works as the signed-in user, sees and changes only what that user's role allows, and by default asks for confirmation before every change. It can find invoices, check bank transactions, create journal entries or run the profit and loss, but it cannot send payments or access payroll data.
What stays with people
Judgement. Contracts with unusual terms, revenue recognition decisions, project-based billing, approvals above threshold and anything the agent flags as uncertain remain with the team, who decide on current, traceable entries rather than on a backlog. The team also owns the rules: which cases an agent may execute on its own, where it has to stop and who is responsible when it does. As the rules mature, the team decides which transactions it still wants to review.
Frequently asked questions
Will the agent post without me?
Only within the rules the team has set. Cases above an approval limit, duplicates or anything unclear stop and are escalated to a person. The data shows whether an agent or a person posted each entry.
Can I see what the agent did?
Yes. Every action is logged with the source, the rule applied and the confidence, and every figure links back to its document and approval.
What happens at month-end?
Judgement calls and sign-off. Reconciliations, accruals and most closing activities have already taken place during the month.
Which banks are connected?
Swiss banks through bLink from SIX and the ESPRIT Network, including UBS, PostFinance, the cantonal banks and many regional banks; SIX maintains the current list of bLink participants. Other banks and systems connect through the platform's APIs.
