Sample content for layout review. The figures, quotes and company details below are illustrative and have not been confirmed with Flaschenpost.
Flaschenpost sells drinks online across Switzerland: a catalogue of several thousand wines, beers and spirits, next-day delivery, and order volumes that swing hard around holidays and promotions. The finance team behind it is small, and for years the month-end close was the bottleneck that decided how quickly the business could see what was actually happening.
Payments arrive through half a dozen providers, deposit refunds and returns move constantly, and every warehouse transfer touches both inventory and VAT. Before Aderis, reconciling all of it meant exporting to spreadsheets, matching by hand, and accepting that the numbers management saw were three weeks old.
The problem with a monthly rhythm
Nothing here was broken, exactly. The books balanced, the auditors were satisfied, and the team was good at what it did. The problem was timing: every answer arrived after the decision had already been made. Five things drove that lag.
- Payment reconciliation – card, invoice, TWINT and PayPal settlements matched by hand, days after the money moved.
- Deposits and returns – crates and bottles coming back continuously, each one a small correction across revenue and inventory.
- Multi-warehouse inventory – stock transfers between regional depots booked in batches rather than as they happened.
- VAT across categories – alcohol duty and reduced-rate goods landing on the same order line.
- Seasonal peaks – December volumes several times a normal month, handled by the same three people.

What changed with Aderis
The shift was not a bigger finance team or a faster spreadsheet. It was moving the routine work into the platform and leaving the people to handle the exceptions.
- Bank and payment feeds – every provider connected once, with settlements arriving in the ledger the day they clear.
- Agent-led coding – incoming documents read, coded and routed automatically, with anomalies flagged for a human.
- Continuous reconciliation – matching runs all month instead of in a week-long sprint at month end.
- Live reporting – statutory, tax and management views built from the same source, current at any hour.
The result, in the team's own framing, is that finance stopped being the department that explains last month and became the one that answers questions about this week.
