Michael Ross, Ph.D.
General Partner,

Michael J. Ross was most recently a managing partner of Didyma, LLC, a management consulting firm. Prior to co-founding Didyma, Dr. Ross was the founding CEO of Axys Pharmaceuticals, now part of Celera. He was also the founding CEO of MetaXen LLC, now part of Exelixis and CyThera Inc. Dr. Ross was the tenth employee at Genentech where he initially served as the team leader for Protropin ( hGH). Other positions held by Dr. Ross include Vice President of Development and most recently, Vice President of Medicinal and Biomolecular Chemistry. Dr. Ross earned his A.B. at Dartmouth College, his Ph.D. at Caltech and completed his post-doctoral studies at Harvard prior to joining Genentech.

Sir James W. Black, M.D.
Nobel Laureate and Head, James Black Foundation

Dr. Black, a Nobel Laureate and the Head of the James Black Foundation, is recognized for his seminal work on the mechanisms of hormone receptor activation and inhibition. His research led to the discovery and introduction of the first beta-blocker, Inderal® (propranolol) for treatment of angina and hypertension. Additionally, he discovered selective antagonists of histamine receptors in the stomach, leading to the marketing of the world's first billion-dollar drug, Tagamet® (cimetidine) for the treatment of ulcers. Dr. Black is currently a Professor of Analytical Pharmacology at King's College Hospital Medical School. Previously, he conducted research with ICI, SmithKline French and Wellcome Laboratories. Dr. Black was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1989 for his work in pharmotherapeutic potential of receptor blocking drugs and was knighted by the Queen of England in 1981.

Paul Greengard, Ph.D.
Nobel Laureate and Vincent Astor Professor, Rockefeller University

Dr. Greengard, Nobel Laureate and Vincent Astor Professor at Rockefeller University in New York, brings over 40 years of academic, government and corporate experience in biochemistry, pharmacology and neurology to Aderis. Dr. Greengard is the recipient of numerous awards and honors in the fields of science and technology, including the 2000 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his discovery of how dopamine and a number of other transmitters in the brain exert their action in the nervous system. Previously, Dr. Greengard held various academic positions with Yale University School of Medicine, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, as well as serving in the public and private sectors with Geigy Research Laboratories and the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Greengard received his Ph.D. in Neurophysiology from Johns Hopkins University.

Joseph R. Bianchine, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C.P.
Senior Scientific Advisor, Schwarz Pharma

Dr. Bianchine, Senior Scientific Advisor to Schwarz Pharma, has extensive research experience in the pharmaceutical management of Parkinson's and other neurological diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, Diplomat of the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology and founder of the Parkinson's Disease Research Institute at Texas Tech University. Instrumental in the approval of more than 15 NDAs, Dr. Bianchine has held senior research and management positions with Hoffmann LaRoche, Dupont, Farmitalia-Carlo Erba and Pharmacia & Upjohn. Dr. Bianchine has also served as a professor at Johns Hopkins University College of Medicine, Texas Tech University and Ohio State University College of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. at Albany Medical College, his M.D. from State University of New York and completed his medical training at Johns Hopkins University College of Medicine. Dr. Bianchine has authored more than 300 articles and 30 books and book chapters in the areas of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics.

Juha P. Kokko, M.D.
Associate Dean of Clinical Research, Emory University

Dr. Kokko, Associate Dean of Clinical Research at Emory University, is a pioneer and world authority in nephrology. He is co-editor of the leading text on fluid and electrolyte balance in the kidney and has served as the President of the American Society for Nephrology. Dr. Kokko was a co-founder of Renalogics and served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine for Emory University. He also conducted research and taught while practicing medicine at Johns Hopkins University, the National Institutes of Health and the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Dr. Kokko earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Emory University.

Ray A. Olsson, M.D.
Professor of Cardiovascular Research, College of Medicine, University of South Florida

Dr. Olsson, Professor of Cardiovascular Research and the Wright Chair of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of South Florida, is an internationally recognized authority on the design and synthesis of adenosine-related compounds. Prior to his tenure at the University of South Florida, Dr. Olsson served as Director of the Division of Medicine at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research
